Harrington has been Australian family owned since 1919, engineering and manufacturing through four generations of the same family, without a single year of interruption. We've made it our mission to be engineered for production.

1920

One-piece car door, Motor Body Builder

The first Australian company to manufacture a one-piece car door.

1940s

Aviation landing lamps, Air Force

The Australian Air Force needed flares to light landing strips so pilots could land at night.

1940s

Hurricane lantern, The Australian Army

The Australian Army urgently needed 2,000 Hurricane Lamps.

1940s

Licence plates, Page Manufacturing

Tooling and finished number plates supplied to Page Manufacturing for the Australian Department of Main Roads.

1950s

Lawnmower base, Victa

Victa needed base-plates, blade discs, grass catchers and petrol tanks for their mowers.

1950s

Paddle Pop moulds, Peters and Streets

Peters and Streets needed copper ice-cream moulds in several different designs.

1960s

Car turning indicator, Chrysler

Chrysler needed difficult pressings for the Valiant, including the indicator-light assembly.

1960s

Trailer Coupling, Wescot Hazell

A coupling to connect a small trailer to a car.

1970s

Safety shoe toe-caps, Dunlop

Dunlop needed safety shoe toe-caps for industrial boots, hardened and tempered to Australian standards.

1970s

One-piece door knobs, Efco

Efco needed one-piece brass door knobs, the conical shape alone requiring 13 forming operations.

1970s

Titanium pacemaker cases, Telectronics

Telectronics searched the world for a manufacturer of titanium pacemaker casings, and came to us.

1970s

Catalytic converter parts, Delphi

Delphi needed stainless steel pressings for catalytic converter parts supplied to Holden and Ford.

1970s

Engine pulleys, Nissan, Ford and Holde

We were the only company in Australia able to produce one-piece engine pulleys, work that won a 1987 BHP steel industry award.

1980s

Fire extinguisher, Quell

Quell needed a fire extinguisher built from two deep-drawn stainless steel pressings, TIG welded and pressure-tested.

1980s

Oil sump, Nissan

Nissan needed one of their most difficult pressings, the oil sump.

1989

Sleep apnea machine components, ResMed

ResMed needed the majority of metal pressings for their sleep apnea machine, supplied for 30 years.

2000

Sydney Olympics

Selected to design and manufacture 14,500 torches and cauldrons for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

2004

Athens Olympics

Followed by an order to produce the Athens 2004 Olympic Torch.
